MC HOUSE CHENGDU

Exhibition Screen Project // Feb, 2022

The new curatorial complex MC HOUSE and the first exhibition of the design series "Back to Modern (A Modern Moment)" officially opened in Taikoo Li Chengdu, a commercial landmark at the heart of the city. The first exhibition of MC HOUSE in Chengdu kicks off the "Sino-French Cultural Spring" festivals in Southwest China. This video project is commissioned as a looping background projected on the exhibition space that features the work of legendary French Modernist designer Charlotte Perriand.

I choose to highlight the organicism philosophy that inspired Perriand’s design as well as the exhibition’s theme of seasonal changes and springtime, as well as its physical location in Chengdu — a city renowned for traditional Chinese cultures, architectures, and bamboo forests. I browsed for royalty-free stock footages online, and I cross-edited the video footages together to represent a harmonious fusion of China and France’s nature and culture.
